Chicago’s construction industry is in crisis. And minorities are underrepresented at all levels of employment.
57%
of construction workers are nearing retirement
10,000
new construction workers are needed annually
2/3
of minority and women don’t make it to journey-level
In the neighborhoods Revolution Workshop serves, the average household makes less than $35k/year. More than 40% of young Black men are out of school and out of work. And violence is pervasive—82% of the city’s homicides, 88% of shootings, and 67% of all arrests happen here.
We need your help to build skills, hope, and resilience in our communities, and to repair the injustice and shortages in Chicago’s construction industry. We believe in the city we can build together.
It’s time you joined the revolution.
